'Projekt Melody' (often Melody) is an American 3D anime-style VTuber and adult content creator who streams on Twitch and previously rose to prominence on Chaturbate. She is portrayed by a human performer using a real-time 3D model and presents an "AI" character persona.[1]
Character and debut[edit]
Animator DigitrevX built Melody’s original Unity-rendered avatar—purple/blue hair with a bandage on the nose, drawing on anime such as Ghost in the Shell. Her Twitter presence began in July 2019 as a fictional broken chat program that “awakens.” She debuted on Chaturbate on 7 February 2020 and gained tens of thousands of Twitter followers within days. Her first Twitch broadcast on 7 March 2020 arrived with Partner status and ended above 50,000 followers.[1]
Twitch career and VShojo[edit]
Twitch briefly suspended the channel in March 2020; platform attire rules for avatars were clarified the following month. A November 2020 suspension tied to a model copyright dispute was lifted quickly. On 24 November 2020 Melody co-launched VShojo, an early Western VTuber agency; she later debuted a Live2D model (2021) and announced her exit from VShojo on 22 July 2025.[1]
Reception[edit]
Her early Chaturbate success sparked debate among webcam performers about virtual models, while fans cited the absurdist AI framing and banter as the appeal.[1]
