Brian Rafat Awadis (born 19 November 1996), known online as FaZe Rug (also Rug), is an American YouTuber whose channel mixes gaming clips, pranks, vlogs, and challenges. He was a FaZe Clan member and later co-owner for about thirteen years before announcing his departure in December 2025.[1]
Early life[edit]
Awadis was born in San Diego, California, to Chaldo-Assyrian immigrant parents from Tel Keppe, Iraq. He graduated from Mira Mesa Senior High School and briefly attended San Diego Miramar College before leaving to create content full-time.[1]
Career[edit]
With his brother Brandon ("Brawadis") he posted early YouTube videos in 2008–2009. He launched the FaZe Rug channel in July 2012 with Call of Duty clips and joined FaZe Clan in January 2013. Prank and lifestyle uploads from 2014 onward broadened the audience beyond esports. Side projects have included music releases, an MTV Ridiculousness appearance (2020), and the freeze-dried candy brand 1UP Candy (2023). On 27 December 2025 he stated on X that he had left FaZe Clan and would continue independently while keeping the FaZe Rug name.[1]
